Birmingham Botanical Gardens – Steph and Tony’s Big Day

And to think it all started with a stolen scarf! Out with the girls for a last hurrah before heading off to Italy for the ski season, Steph wasn’t expecting to meet the one in a bar in Sutton Coldfield. But she was in a playful mood and pinched Tony’s scarf, making him play “piggy in the middle” to get it back. It was a winning move!

When they said goodbye they thought they’d never see each other again, so when fate (or Sutton Coldfield) brought them together once more six months later, there was no way they were going to let the opportunity slip them by! That was almost seven years ago, and they couldn’t be happier.

Tony and Steph have always been big lovers of the outdoors – Tony proposed in the Lake District and from the beginning they had their hearts set on a venue with plenty of outdoor space. with a real romantic ambience, and, vitally for this couple, it offers access to the 15 acres of gorgeous gardens.

After their ceremony in Walmley, the reception began with a sparkling reception (Tony and Steph added a fun and tasty little touch, making their prosecco into Kir Royale), and a selection of mouth-watering canapés. Dodging the showers, the couple grabbed some brilliant photographs with their friends and family, making the most of the fountain and the sweeping lawns. I loved looking through these photos – everyone is having fun and it really shows!

The time just flew, and soon guests were treated to Steph and Tony’s tailor-made wedding breakfast. Everyone loved their three Mediterranean courses: a crushed new potato and chorizo stack starter, followed by supreme of chicken with a risotto cake and vegetable ratatouille. Dessert was vanilla panna buy xanax online no prescription canada cotta, topped with seasonal berry compote and accompanied by ginger and lime biscuits.

There was something for everyone at the evening do, with a disco, a band and a sax player all helping the guests get into the swing of things! After the evening buffet, there was no excuse not to dance the night away as Tony and Steph had arranged a late licence.

Their guests had a great time, and so did they:

“Thank you to everyone at the Botanical Gardens who helped us to create the most special and memorable day of our lives. We cannot thank the staff enough for their creativity, professionalism and ensuring everything on the day ran smoothly. The food was absolutely out of this world!

Stuart the Chef, and Sue and Jo our wedding organisers were very attentive and accommodating to all of our requirements. All of our guests commented on how stunning the venue and food was. We wish we could do it all over again and would recommend Birmingham Botanical Gardens to anyone planning a special occasion.”

What a fab, fun wedding! Many thanks to Sally Wood Photography for letting us use your gorgeous pictures!

I can’t wait to see more from Birmingham Botanical Gardens – it’s such an amazing venue. If you’d like to see it for yourself and find out more about getting married there, now’s a great time! The team are throwing a Wedding Fair on February 23rd. It’s free to attend, and all guests will get goodie bags and a glass of Prosecco on arrival. You can register to attend here.

Congrats again to Steph and Tony – I’m so glad you loved your big day!
